Tommy Kirk, Kevin Corcoran and others are back in Savage Sam, the sequel to ‘Old Yeller’. The film doesn’t have as much to do with the dog (named Savage Sam) as it has to do with the people around him running away from and chasing after Indians. Tommy chases after his younger brother chasing after his dog chasing after a bob cat. Tommy’s love interest to be, a pretty blonde girl, just a young pup in the last film, tags along after Tommy just before a gang of wild Indians comes along and kidnaps them.
Tommy’s kin folk and other local neighbors track them down and there is an eventual showdown between the good folks of Texas and the renegade Indians. If their was ever a character who deserved to be captured by renegade indians it is the character played by Kevin. He was a brat in the first movie and just when you think he grew up, he continues to make irrational little boy decisions. Actually as a matter of fact adults make those same type of decisions.
A fun and entertaining ride in the old west, DISNEY STYLE.
