Grefriars Bobby

Greyfriars Bobby (1961) is another charming Disney animal movie about a devoted Skye terrier who will not leave the graveside of his dead master, Auld Jock, who has died  in the small Scottish Town of Edinburgh.  As John lies in his grave in the Greyfriar's Kirkyard, Bobby lies by the graveside not leaving the side of his master.  He soon finds his way into the hearts of  the grumpy graveyard caretaker James Brown and his wife, a kindhearted restaurant owner named Mr. Traill and the local neighborhood children.

The movie is  based on the novel by Eleanor Atkinson, which was based on the real life Greyfriars Bobby.  The statue of the dog likes in the town for all to remember and see.

It's interesting that this dog has been preserved in Bronze, the written word and celluloid.
It's definitely worth a stay in the family library.
