Tall Tale March 1995
The animated versions of these stories are so colorful and full of great storytelling. The live action version seems a little less fantastic but is an overall fun introduction to American Folk tales with Pecos Bill (Stud Patrick Swazie) Patrick Henry & Normal Size Paul Bunyan and his Blue Ox.
There are moments where the action soars tall and then there are places where it is kinna flat. The folk heroes are trying to help this kid get home to his parents to stop a villain from putting up a rail way in his home town. You can’t really tell where the fantasy begins and reality begins. It’s hard to tell if he is dreaming or if it is real. I don’t think it ever tells you.
A fairly decent film. Fun. Not great. Not bad. Worth a rental if you want to experience a live action version of American Folk Tales.
