One Little Indian (1973)
Mark (Clay O’Brien) is One Little Indian ( actually one little white boy who is a wannabe indian) trying to find a way back to the Indians who raised him after kidnapping him as a youngin.
Cpl. Clint Keyes (James ‘Rockford’ Garner is a renegade soldier on his way to Mexico.
Rosie is his bad tempered camel who loves to destroy people’s camps and scare off their cattle and horses.
Thirsty is Rosie’s Cute but tag-a-long young child.
Together this odd assortment of characters is on the run from the law, lead by Sgt. Waller (John Doucette), out in the desert of the unsettled New Mexico territories. In their travels they come across Widow Doris McIver (Vera Miles) and her beautiful young blue eyed daughter Martha. I was wondering how beautiful this young girl would be when she grew older and lo and behold she turns out to be a very young Jodie Foster.
OLI is a pleasant and amusing ride. It has light touches of drama, excitement ,comedy, and a touch of Christian witness. Let Keyes, Mark, the Camels and all the rest, ride into your Family Library and take a break from being the band on the run.
